Conveyor Systems in Open Pit Mines
The difference between 92% and 98% availability can be millions of euros a year. We engineer for the 98%.
Why ROXON
Designed for the needs of your site
Open-pit operations cover a wide spectrum. We build normal and heavy-duty conveyors and specify the right one for your site.
Overland expertise applied to open-pit layouts
Open-pit projects almost always include overland sections, and we have designed them for decades.
The work smaller suppliers cannot take on
We build conveyors that move 8,000 tonnes of crushed rock per hour and run 24/7. We deliver some of the most challenging projects in the world.
Availability is what matters
In an open pit, capacity and uptime are key to success. We design for maintainability and installability from day one. Bearings, idlers, and wear parts are specified so they can be changed on a short maintenance window. Access platforms and guard geometry are drawn to match how your crew actually works on the belt.
Over the life of the conveyor, every percentage point of conveyor availability is worth millions. We engineer to save you money in the long run.
From gravel pit to heavy hard-rock
Our HC100 Belt Conveyor is available for both standard and demanding applications.
- For standard duties, we supply pre-engineered modular structures that ship fast and assemble predictably on site.
- For heavy or unusual duties, we engineer it from the ground up to your specifications.
The spectrum matters. A light-duty conveyor designed for a construction quarry will fail inside a process plant, while a process-plant-grade conveyor is overkill in a gravel pit. We provide the right duty class rather than upselling you into a heavier structure.
Capacities run into the thousands of tonnes per hour, at belt widths and speeds matched to the material and the profile of the pit.
Conveyors, feeders, overlands, and tailings handling
Our scope in open-pit mining covers the entire material handling chain.
For material transportation, we deliver reliable belt conveyors and high-incline conveyors. For feeding applications, our product range includes apron feeders and belt feeders, suitable for receiving material from crushers, stockpiles, and transfer points.
For long-distance conveying, we engineer complete overland conveyor systems, including the conveyor structure, drives, control systems, and transfer stations. By treating the system as a single integrated solution, we optimize performance, reliability, and total lifecycle cost.
In tailings and heap leaching applications, we supply conveying, feeding, and stacking equipment used for tailings re-stacking, bio-leach pad construction, and bulk material placement.
We also deliver shiftable conveyor solutions for mining operations where the pit layout and material flow routes change during the life of the mine.
Decades of in-house design experience
Our engineering team has been designing open-pit conveyor systems for decades, and our installation supervisors have commissioned the equipment they are now servicing.
That experience is the reason we win projects where availability is the deciding factor. A 100-tonne-class conveyor that runs continuously is a piece of equipment that has to be calculated, detailed, and installed by people who have done it before.
We are still supplying spares and replacement parts for conveyors from the 1980s. The engineering discipline that makes a conveyor last that long is the same discipline that makes a new one reach 98% availability from day one.
