ROXON is awarded HSE diploma in Boliden Odda

The ROXON team has been awarded the Health, Safety and Environment award at the Boliden Odda smelter expansion project in western Norway. The large expansion project is planned to run between 2021-2024 and enables Odda to almost double its zinc production. At the same time, the project will help to reduce the carbon dioxide intensity by 15 percent from already its world leading position.

ROXON supplied a material handling system, which transports multiple materials from quay to both existing and new, fully automated storage. The scope from engineering to installation allowed ROXON to utilize all capabilities to optimize the system. The supply included fixed and moveable conveyors and a diverter chute.

The installation and especially the lifting of large conveyor modules created a challenge to the ROXON engineering and installation teams. The challenge was solved by thorough planning of installation already in engineering phase and active communication and co-operation with the customer and other suppliers at site.

The whole ROXON team is proud of the recognition from Boliden. The HSE diploma describes the installation as follows:
